What are the eight consciousnesses?
Your six sense organs, the ears, the nose, the tongue, the eyes, and so forth.
There's six of them.
And so the eyes, in order for you to see, you need an eye consciousness between you and the object you looking at.
So there's a connection there called consciousness.
You know where it comes from?
Your Buddha nature.
It's your Buddha nature at work immediately.
Okay?
That's why it's called consciousness.
There's six of them.
The six sense organ have six consciousnesses.
Number seven is ego.
Your six sense organs are the ones that operational helps you connect with the outside world.
And then you look at someone and say the image comes in to your mind.
Okay?
The mind processes it say ah that's a woman because why?
She has longer hair and so forth.
So the mind among the six consciousness the mind decides.
Guess what also happens inside of you.
Seventh consciousness says I don't like her I like her.
Like dislike.
That's a nature of seventh consciousness.
That's the seventh consciousness.
When you have a like and dislike, that's a seventh consciousness called a ego.
Ego is always colored by I like I dislike.
And eighth consciousness is the store consciousness.
Meaning that it stores everything.
All the seven consciousnesses that gather information in your head is stored in the eighth consciousness.
