Especially for us, our ego is so strong. It is everywhere; it colors everything we do. So it's rather, rather challenging. And so, in the Dharma Ending Age, like in our times, destroying the ego is not that easy, and people are not willing to empty the ego. But that's why, um, not many people are interested in cultivation anymore—because they say, "Why do I need to cultivate? I don't need to cultivate. I'm happy. I got what I want." And so... you really don't cultivate until you begin to see the suffering... that you are suffering, and that the more you run away from suffering, the more it follows you everywhere you go. However, those of you who have the blessings—meaning that even though you're suffering, but you refuse to be a victim of your suffering. For ordinary people who say... they ignore the suffering. They look the other way and say, "You know, I live like this my entire life; I can't change." They don't want to change. Okay, and they suffer. They endure the suffering, but it's never, for them, about the ego. They never could believe as the ego, which is truly the source of their suffering. You're suffering is because you're a victim to your own ego. Doesn't matter where you run away, what you do—your ego follows you.
