If you have wisdom, number one, you see the source of your suffering and you decide for yourself.
If you really have wisdom, you can drop it.
Then your suffering stops immediately.
And once you're able to see suffering, when you cease your suffering, that's when you become happy.
Trust me.
Happiness is the absence of suffering.
It's not something you look outside.
It's no suffering inside of your mind.
And once you're able to get to the state where you really are happy and have no suffering whatsoever, that's when you become generous.
You will then, out of generosity, choose to suffer to help others relieve their suffering.
I want you to understand what you're being taught here in Mahayana.
Giving is the first thing we teach you in Mahayana, because after you become happy, that's when you understand why it's so important to give.
When you're truly happy, folks, that's when you become grateful.
You find out.
And that's when you give more because you become happier.
You May be poorer, but happier.
