We can explain it in terms of greed, in terms of whatever things, but fundamentally, all you see is killing. When war happens, if you kill someone or you help kill someone, eventually, you pay the price. It's that simple. Cause and effect. You kill, you help kill, you will be killed. It turns out it will never stop because we've been killing each other for so long. We undergo our retribution, either directly by being killed, by being harmed ourselves, or indirectly by having the people we care for being killed, being harmed. It hurts. So, it's best to avoid any and all killing karma.
