First, not to fall into the three evil paths. Because as soon as you fall into the three evil paths, it's a lot of suffering, and you'll be suffering for a long, long, long time. If you fall into the hells, you'll be there for millions upon millions of years to endure torture and suffering—you don't go to just one hell, you go to a series of hells. So the first priority is to avoid falling into the three lower realms, the three evil paths. What's the second priority? You need to go to the Buddha's Pure lands. Number three is to attain samadhis and eloquence. And what's the fourth priority in life? Getting what we want. This is what happens when you maintain the Great Compassion Mantra. You get these four benefits. Not falling: this is very important because it's so easy to fall, folks. Number two: you'll be reborn in a good place, and the best place is a Pure Land. Number three: to become enlightened—and reach a very high level of enlightenment—so that you can do something important and wonderful in this life, something really, really meaningful for you that you'll be very proud of. Number four: finally, let's be real and I've been cultivating because I'm hoping to get what I want.
