You teach them by reducing your own afflictions—by becoming less afflicted yourself. This is how you teach children. Buddhism is about providing the knowledge to reduce your afflictions. When we are afflicted, there is no light in our mind; therefore, we cannot see clearly. When you have no affliction, you are able to brightly illuminate, meaning you can see exactly what the problem is. This is a hint about how we should live our lives and become better problem solvers: use our light of wisdom to illuminate things, instead of always using our minds to dissect and analyze.
