They chase what they like. They seek excitement and fun, not realizing that happiness is already their natural state. Your natural nature is happiness. You just allow unhappy thoughts to arise and dwell in your life. we welcome unhappy thoughts subconsciously. We accept them as natural—but they are not natural. It is not natural for unhappy thoughts to arise and take over your mind. To learn how to chase these thoughts away, you must first go through the training of endurance. When you sit in meditation with your legs crossed, there is physical discomfort, boredom, and many thoughts arising in your mind. You endure all of it. That endurance is the training that develops your skill. First, you learn to chase the unhappy thoughts away. Later, at the next level, you no longer allow them to arise at all. The more you practice meditation, the more your skills advance, and the happier you become. You develop peace and bliss regardless of what happens around you. No matter what people do to you, you remain happy. Your happiness does not depend on others. It is intrinsic. You are happy inside.
